Puranapanda Srinivas will inaugurate the symposium
Representatives of other faiths to participatein the event
Visakhapatnam : A symposium on world peace will be held here on Saturday and Sunday.
G.S.Hari Hara Sarma told presspersons here on Thursday that there was turmoil in the world because of stockpiling of weapons, outbreak of new epidemics, global warming and increasing terrorism. All these warranted fresh efforts towards maintaining peace and harmony. The aim of the symposium was to promote peace in the world, the seer said.
Puranapanda Srinivas of Rajahmundry( Famous Writer ) would inaugurate the symposium on May8, 2. Representatives of other religions such as Islam and Christianity would also be participating in the symposium. Shivarudra Swamiji of Beli Math would preside over the valedictory on May9, he said.
T.Subbarami Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmayya would be visiting the Siva Temple on May 10 and 11, respectively, the seer said.
Programmes
Various programmes would be organised before the conclusion of his Paryaya on May 11. They included Srimannyayasudha mangala and Veda Managalotsava on May 8 and 9 and Mangala Vadya Sammelan on May 11, he said.
Programmes on January 17 would include concluding ceremony and Sapta Rathotsava. Seven chariots would be taken in a procession on the Car Street here for the first time on that day, the Sarma said.
